US universities generally offer three main intakes. Planning early around these windows helps you secure admission, scholarships and visa appointment on time.

  • Fall intake (August / September): Main intake with maximum course options, scholarships and on-campus job opportunities.
  • Spring intake (January): Second major intake; ideal if you need extra time for tests or documentation. Slightly fewer UG options but strong PG choices.
  • Summer intake (May): Limited programs and universities; useful if you missed Fall and Spring or have specific short-term courses in mind.

Basic eligibility for US study & F-1 visa

  • Age usually 16+ with completed relevant prior education.
  • Valid passport covering your study period in the USA.
  • 12th pass for UG admission; Bachelor’s degree for most PG programs.
